Buckhorn is a secluded 1 bedroom, 2 bath cabin that is sure to be the perfect setting for your mountain getaway. This cabin favors several mountain cabin themes including a replica horn chandelier, plenty of fishing and lake-themed decor, plus a western/cowboy master bedroom. There are even some items that shout out to motorcyclists who, much like Mini Cooper, RX7 and other driving enthusiasts, will love the proximity to the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway. But pedalers, too will appreciate this location, as the Tsali mountain bike trails are also just a few miles away. Land-lubbers don't get all the attention, though, as boaters will love easy access to Fontana Lake at a few different launch options nearby. Come in after a day packed full of activities and relax next the fire, or enjoy roasting a marshmallow over the outdoor fire pit, or just relax in the hot tub under the stars.
This cabin is easily accessible and motorcycle friendly (we assume only highly experienced riders in this area*), with paved access almost to the cabin. A short gravel driveway is hard-packed and won't give experienced riders any pause. A small covered carport area compliments the stay to keep your bikes dry.
Great Room
Enjoy the stone gas-log fireplace from the leather sofa and eat dinner under the antler chandelier at the table for 6. The kitchen is well-equipped with stainless steel appliances and all the plates and serving items you'll need. This includes more pots, pans, storage bowls, and small appliances than you are used to from most rental cabins. A flat-panel HDTV is provided with Dish Network satellite and premium programming. Listen to the music channels or broadcast your own via an ipod headphone input cable through the Bose cube speakers, which also add a great element when watching sports games or action movies home-theater style.
Upstairs, there is an open loft featuring a 7-foot slate pool table and an additional bathroom. There is a sleeping nook up here with a full-sized Murphy Bed for additional sleeping.
sleeping accommodations
The downstairs bedroom features a king sized bed with a hallway bathroom, but the entire bedroom, bathroom, and hall is divided from the main living area so is more like a master suite area. DishNetwork HD service in this room on a flat-panel TV.
*we describe this home a friendly to motorcyclists based on the number of past residents and guests who frequently ride their motorcycles of all styles up to the cabins in this community. We don't guarantee this is advisable for all levels of riders and require each guest to be responsible for their own safety measures at their skill level. Guests wishing to store boat or motorcycle trailers at the bottom of the hill are welcome to use a community parking area that is clearly marked just as you enter "the Pines" community but before you start heading up the hill to the cabins.
