You pass through the elegant gates of Fontana Lake Estates and wind along wide, paved roads out on a huge peninsula to reach Whispering Pines Lakehouse. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the backdrop of the gorgeous view of lush forest with a perfect opening to see the blue waters of Fontana Lake. Three bedrooms, 2.5 baths including the master suite on the main level, an upstairs game loft and downstairs family room provide generous space for a large family gathering or a retreat of 3 couples. The open loft upstairs has large windows looking out to the Great Smokies and is a nice perch to play foosball or board games, read a book, or just relax and enjoy the view. The view is lush green in the summer, snow-capped in the winter, and blanketed with vibrant yellows, oranges, and reds in the fall.
Main Floor
There is a gas burning fireplace in the living room and open kitchen/dining area with a walk out to the screened in porch and the main deck. The half bathroom at the main entry lobby is perfect for your guests. Additionally, this level hosts the king master bedroom suite with a private bathroom and private deck for those alone times.
Lower Level
There are two queen-sized bedrooms downstairs with a common area for kids to watch TV and play games. The perfect spot for grandchildren or an afternoon nap on the twin/twin trundle bed. Walk out on the deck with hot tub under a lush canopy of trees or walk the trail leading to the aluminum dock at your own 269 feet of shoreline (note: The walk down and back up to the dock is rather lengthy and steep. It is an approximate 10-minute, strenuous walk.). Enjoy fishing, paddle boarding, swimming or any lake sport you are at the mouth of a very quiet, safe and serene cove. Boat rentals are available for a day or the entire week.
Special - Make sure you check out the benefits of our Xplorie program, which provides free admissions to many attractions every day of your stay!
Motorcycle friendly - assumes experienced riders only. The final section of road and the driveway are level, well-packed gravel/dirt, not paved. We describe this as motorcycle-friendly based on past experience of riders but cannot guarantee access to all riders as we don't know experience level or driving abilities. There should be plenty of space for a trailer, but again, turnaround and backing up skills are necessary. Always verify for larger sized trailers.
No campers or RVs. No parties, events, or pets (strictly enforced!), please; and respect the neighbors in the community by driving safely and cautiously, espectially around blind curves.
